Gluten Problem – or Pesticide Problem?

Someone sent me a link to this article a few days ago, which discusses the long-term effect of using the pesticide Roundup before harvest for many grain crops.

All I can say is, wow! It’s great food for thought. We’ve seen a huge rise in people reporting problems with wheat products – so much so that it’s spawning a massive industry in gluten-free everything. And as dog owners, we are seeing more dogs than ever before showing the signs of wheat and grain intolerances.

But what if what we’re really experiencing is a problem with how our wheat and grains are processed, and not the grains themselves?

Part of the reason we created Saintlees Cookie Treats was to deal with Amy’s food issues.¬†We specifically use an organic rice flour instead of regular flour, and organically grown and harvested rolled oats. We get a consistent, tasty product that dogs love, and a nice solid “result” at the end of the day.
